Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontic deals with diagnosis, treatment, planning and restoration of teeth to reproduce esthetics and function. It also deals with smile designing, esthetic dentistry which includes bleaching of teeth, lamination and veneering. Endodontic is a branch that deals with root canal treatment and periapical surgeries. The Department headed by Prof. Dr. Sunil. M. Eraly along with his dedicated team tries to impart utmost quality education with the aim of achieving academic excellence and inspiring confidence in the students. The Department is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment as required by the students to enhance the core value of the education being imparted to them. The department has a Phantom-head laboratory appropriate for preclinical training, two clinical sections, one for undergraduate students and the other for postgraduate students where in house treatment is provided. The campus has well equipped ceramic and casting laboratories. It also includes a well-maintained library for quick reference and deep study that allows students to acquire immense knowledge about the Conservative Dentistry and Endodontic.
DR.SUNIL M ERALY PROFESSOR- HOD
The Department of Periodontics and Oral Implantology impart education and understanding on theoretical basis and various factors involved in the maintenance of health and treatment of diseases of the periodontium. The curriculum is planned in a manner that students have access to current trends and advances in periodontics. Undergraduate students are trained with skills to perform non-surgical and preventive periodontal procedures and are introduced to surgical periodontal procedures by observing and assisting the procedures that are being performed. Postgraduate students are given the training to learn and master a variety of surgical clinical procedures. Apart from comprehensive periodontal management, they are exposed to dental implant treatments and advanced techniques like lasers for the treatment of periodontal diseases. Research is a significant activity in the department. Current research activities in the department include core areas like systemic diseases, periodontal diseases, effects of laser on root surface and various bone augmentations. Further research is planned in the identification of disease biomarkers, inflammatory mediators and gene therapy in the treatment and the diagnosis of periodontal diseases.

The department helps the students to specialize in dental care services pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of oral functioning. It also treats patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth, oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes. Department of Prosthodontics offers the most advanced form of sequencing, restorative treatment and maintenance. They also perform impontocogy and full mouth reconstructions.

Department of oral pathology and microbiology is well equipped to carry out histopathological, histochemical and Immunochemical studies. The modern histopathological and microbiological lab is equipped with semi automatic microtome, tissue processor, research and pentahead microscopes for both UG and PG students.
Pathology museum has a wide collection of histopathology slides and rare specimen supplements. There is also a vast array of specialized texts and journals available within the department. The department has furthermore plans to expand by including an IHD and diagnostic centers in next few years.

The department focuses in specializing in the field of dentistry that deals with prevention of diseases within the community. It treats patients through its outreach programs, institution adoption programs, school dental health programs, etc. whereby instilling the essence of social responsibility towards the society. It trains the dental graduates about the procedural steps in establishing a successful dental practice. Public Health Dentistry adds to the evidence based dentistry through the research works and bio statistical analysis of recent advances in dental science.

The Radiology part of the subject equips the budding dentists in the field of diagnosis using conventional and advanced imaging methods. Students learn through lectures, seminars and practice. Students are also exposed to the treatment of oral diseases.
